Atomfall Unleashed: Explore the Secret Corners of Casterfell Woods in an Exclusive Gameplay Preview
With 2 weeks to go until Atomfall launch, the Rebellion team delights us with a new gameplay showcase, this time featuring the Casterfell Woods as a a more experienced player!
Atomfall is Rebellion’s new first-person survival adventure. Set in an alternate timeline of England in 1962, five years after the Windscale Fire, causing a secluded quarantine zone for the region.
The protagonist wakes up amnesiac and finds themselves in a drastically changed Lake District. The inhabited areas are “protected” by an iron-fisted military force, while cultists and bandits roam outside. The goal is to uncover the truth behind the events and recover lost memories.
Atomfall: Casterfell Woods Gameplay Showcase
With around 2 weeks to launch, Rebellion is gearing up for Atomfall’s release on 27th March 2025, for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC. As well as being available on day one on Xbox Game Pass. On 11th March 2025, a substantial Gameplay Showcase was revealed.
The gameplay is narrated by Anna Sambrooks and offers nearly 20 minutes of adventure in the Casterfell Woods area. The player is more experienced and further along in the story, highlighting new gameplay elements and story details.
Atomfall: Experienced Gameplay Highlights
The new Experienced Player Gameplay of Atomfall is highly intriguing. We explore Casterfell Woods under the guidance of a lead character searching for Mother Jago, passing through the Helicopter Crash Site, and eliminating cultists. Notable features include:
- Mother Jago: A mysterious woman found in The Old Mine, possessing vital information within the cultist-occupied zone. She also acts as a merchant, providing supplies and resources.
- Druid’s Camp & Castle Ruins: A cultist camp at the base of Castle Ruins. These enemies have abandoned technology, wielding bows, arrows, and melee weapons.
- Bow & Stealth Mechanics: The showcase demonstrates a stealth approach using a bow and arrows to eliminate enemies. Not to mention how the enemies are able to hear the player’s footsteps if too we make too much noise
