Forever Skies Version 1.0 Release Date and PS5 Launch

Forever Skies is an immersive first-person open-world survival game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Developed by Far From Home, the game invites players to explore a toxic Earth ravaged by an ecological disaster.

After deciding to extend Early Access through 2024, the team at Far From Home has officially announced the release date of Forever Skies. The futuristic, post-apocalyptic first-person survival game will launch its 1.0 version on April 14, 2025, on both Steam and PS5.

A new trailer accompanies the announcement, highlighting the game’s co-op mode, which supports up to 4 players. In the game, players must search for a cure to the virus that has devastated the Earth while navigating a flying base, exploring the ruins, scavenging resources, and upgrading survival skills.

Forever Skies: The Development Team, Process, and Recent News

After 4 years of development, the team is ready to launch Forever Skies version 1.0. Originally announced on January 11, 2022, and released in Early Access on June 22, 2023, the game was developed by the Polish team at Far From Home Studio, founded by industry veterans with experience on games like League of Legends, Dying Light, and Divinity Original Sin.

Though Early Access was originally set to end in 2024, the team extended it further, releasing 34 updates, including essential fixes and major features. Among the most notable updates was the highly anticipated co-op mode, which launched on December 9, 2024. Along with the release date, the team revealed the 2025 Roadmap for Forever Skies on Steam. This promises exciting additions for version 1.0:

  • New Biomes: Silent City and Overgrown Ruins, bringing fresh zones that enhance the game’s progression.
  • Locations: New locations within these biomes, including The Workshop and Airships, each hiding valuable resources, upgrades, and lore.
  • Points of Interest: A rework of Data Cards adds new points of interest to explore, collect, and unlock parts, blueprints, Murals, and Colossal Lifeforms.
