Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era (HoMM) is the new installment in development by the developer Unfrozen . Commissioned by Ubisoft to revive the Heroes of Might and Magic series, a strategic RPG saga born in 1995. The last chapter dates back to 2015 with HoMM VII.  

Olden Era was announced at the end of August 2024, with the reveal confirming its arrival in Early Access in 2025. Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era – Gameplay Showcase  

The Unfrozen team has hosted numerous dev talks over the past months dedicated to Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era. The new installment in the iconic series sees Olden Era acting as the eighth main chapter.  

With the goal of reviving the series after a decade-long absence, the developers promise the classic HoMM experience with new features and a fresh story. On March 14, the team will unveil a new Gameplay Trailer, giving us a closer look at the game in action.  

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era – Latest News and Playtest  

With the latest Dev Talks and showcases, the team has introduced the core mechanics of Olden Era. Map Templates have now been enhanced, allowing for more complex and dynamic randomly generated maps, ensuring uniqueness in every match.  

Meanwhile, fantastic news arrives for fans. Starting today, March 17, 2025, until March 28, 2025, the Open Playtest: Arena Mode will take place. Players can request access to the Playtest and try out the new game mode. Simply visit the official game page on Steam page and request the access. If selected, you will receive a notification and/or an email.
