Star Wars (SW) is certainly one of the most famous and beloved multimedia franchises in the world. With extensive use in the video game world dating back to 1982 with Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back on Atari 2600. Respawn’s Star Wars Strategy Game: Official Announcement Confirmation

After a silence regarding the 2022 project, it seems that there is finally some movement on the Respawn Star Wars Strategy game. In fact, user Timur222 shared on 17 January the news of an RTS by Respawn for the month of April during the Star Wars Celebration in Japan.

And this was more recently confirmed by Lucasfilm Games. On 19 April 2025, during the Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025. Confirming the participation of Respawn and Bit Reactor for the presentation of a Turn-based Star Wars Strategy game.

Star Wars: What We Know About Respawn’s Strategy Game

The information shared by Timur222 turned out to be true, although the confirmation speaks of a turn-based strategy and tactical game. With the involvement of Bit Reactor, it seems aimed at an XCOM-style experience, but in the SW universe. From what Timur222 shared, the game will be announced during the event, accompanied by a trailer.

It will release on both PC and Epic and Steam, as well as consoles, likely only on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, due to confirmation of the game on Unreal Engine 5. And from what was confirmed back then, it seems that the 2024 layoffs, along with the cancellation of Respawn’s Mandalorian FPS, did not affect in any major way the development of the game.
